Cinematography in the Cold

     It is cold outside. The time is just 4 in the afternoon, yet the winds breezing down feels cold. It really is a cold season.

     Yesterday, I went to school to meet my group mates in cinematography. We were making a movie - it was a project for MAPEH, and we could not give up on this one. I reached MaSci 15 minutes after 9 in the morning. There I saw Leah. She said that she ate breakfast at Jollibee. June and Tano came in afterwards. Marc also arrived in due time. Mary came in with her dad.

     Leah told us that Mark could not make it because he was forbidden by his dad to go that day. Christian did not come too, including Elijah.

     We were short of actors.

     We came to Marc s house through Mary’s car (her father drove us all through Las Pinas). Mary had her video camera with her (including the tripod). We sa Marc s house. It was comfortable inside. There were also lot of cats in there. Bea may mind being there.. ^ ^

     We looked around the village to see the parks. The first one we saw had a small chapel, so we had decided to shoot the burial there. The park had large see saws. Mary enjoyed the experience that we tried the lever.

     The next park was perfect to shoot a conversation in the script. There was a small autumnal tree and swings. We all agreed upon those two places to shoot.

     We had lunch at Marc s. They served adobo with potatoes. It was weird, and the seasonings that I had tasted were a sullen mix of soy sauce, some salt, garlic, pepper and a little sugar. The chicken was not sautéed, so it was boiled directly and then seasoned. I ate a lot of rice though, their rice was a bit mushy, but I did not mind.

     After lunch we shot the first scene at the second park with the tree and the swings. We had a lot of trials and bloopers, so we kept rewinding the tape. We even saw Mary when she was at Grade 6 and her hair was short then. We were laughing out loud there. We soon resumed taping. Tano and Mary had a lot of line bloopers. It took us a lot of time before we could get a good shot. There was a lot of bystander distractions and noise from some karaoke singers and the vehicles that passed the park, especially tricycles.

     We then returned to Marc s house and into Marc s room to film the kill shoot. It was a conspiracy to kill Tano. June dressed Marc in a dark jacket and a cap, and Marc mixed up Coke and Sprite in a glass to look like rum.

     We made a frat boss inside a room in just 30 minutes.

     Leah and I held two blankets over the room s windows to keep the room dark enough. The shoot involved atelephone conversation. June made a blooper but created the perfect surname for the person they will kill - Montelibano.

     We could not shoot the death scene, because we did not have the right props (we were asking Tano what he preferred to be his blood - UFC, Heinz, Del Monte, just or cooked cornstarch with red food dye. We also planned the style of death, and we need a torture scene.

     As gruesome as it may seem, we thought of the plan in less than ten minutes. We were fully fledged criminals by that time.

     I went to Cavite after the shoot. I rode a jeep to Imus, in which I was confused by the place were I want to be. Medical Center Imus was a walk away from a road they told me to, so I walked off the jeep and started walking.

     I went inside the premises of MCI, searching for any relative of mine to be there at the ground floor. I was not sure of where to find my sister, who just gave birth to her son, Joshua. Then I saw my uncle in the free lot behind the hospital were he was organizing the Christmas party. He told me to go to room 609.

     I saw my sister at last, five days after she moved from Muntinlupa to Imus, so that she could have close medical attention. She was a bit pale, but she was alright. She had a normal delivery. I did not see the baby though. They just described it to me, Joshua was large. ^ ^ I’m an uncle now!

     I did not know why, but I was being held by gluttony that night. I can’t stop eating, especially sweet stuff. I was worried that my sugar would rise, so I avoided the buffet table and went up the room in front of my sister s, and read the Reader’s Digest December 2005 issue there.

     I slept there for about two hours (I fell asleep, maybe after reading). We went home at 1:50 AM. We reached home by about 2:20 in the morning. Aww I fell instantly at my bed after brushing my teeth.

     The weather is still cold.
