The Very Long Weekend

This is what you call a very, very long weekend. The computer here is still downloading updates, so I cannot, touch it, and I cannot stop it (I don’t know why) and I cannot browse some pages once in a while, all I can do right now is open Yahoo Messenger and type this blog post. I can’t open Media Player because it will slow down the PC (this is a personal and almost everyday experience) so I am typing this blog post.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday and now Monday. They vanquished my favourite day. They could have set up the coup when there was Filipino (like Tuesday to Thursday, not Friday, it’s Science camp). They say three days is enough for a long weekend, that’s a bit true, and now we are currently experiencing a very long weekend.

I have nothing else to do, but maybe read a lot of History by Perry and read Advanced Biology and do some lost notes. I particularly have lost track of my notes again, so I need to replenish them right away. I now remember that we have the Math Time that we need to answer.

The end of the Junior school year approaches us at speeds one never expects.

I have to say, this is one heck of a school year, because I have discovered many things henceforth.

  1. There is more to life than sitting in front of the PC for 6 hours or more. Philippe and I did this during our first and second year. But we had enough of eye strains and cramping legs. Then you might say, “Now there is DotA.” But DotA is just a time killer, so no need to swell.

  2. Everyone has their own sport. I noticed that. I particularly had no sport to improve. Now, I now enjoy figure skating, biking and badminton.

  3. Friendship can be stronger from a distance, and relationships can be weaker from a distance.

  4. Let’s just say I have never been this busy all my life.

  5. An active lifestyle is a good one, but with a drawback - a tired and stressed feeling.

  6. Meditation is a good way to relieve that drawback aforementioned.

  7. I have seen our batch’s cooperation. It was a good one, because after organizing a lot of events, one can still see that our batch still works out fine.

Sorry for the bulleting (I am currently a blog writer sloth). But my point goes all the way. Ciao~

Updates

I hate anti-virus updates. They kill me. (Now, I speak like Holden Caulfield, what a mess.) The computer became sluggish slow when they say “New components detected!” and I click Yes, and the rest while I’m doing Internet work was a slow outcome.

So much for that, my nephew Joshua is present in our house today, meaning cute happy smiles with added diaper changes, loud cries and a few sleepless nights. One could deal with it.

Eventually, if you know what I mean.

It’s not so bloggable, the weekend. Nothing special happened, I think, so I guess boredom is the free way. I missed skating already. I want to play DoTA as well, I need to figure some item formulas first. I have free days, I read what I need for the quizzes, I have read the topic for Social Studies (I cannot catch up with the topics, Ma’am Lazaro its called the blitzkrieg learning approach) which was Italian unification. It was short, so I continued reading up to Otto van Bismarck.

I have no problems whatsoever with the Catcher in the Rye. I finished it on Friday and on an Advanced Biology period. Who couldn’t care less about ELISA (enzyme -linked immunosorbent assay) and Western Blotting (however I was interested if there would ever be any Eastern Blotting ahead) and some headless stick figures with boxes all over.

Hmm. Joshua loves my new green pillow.

My cold needs two more symptoms before it becomes SARS, so far I had a complication that was not related in the respiratory system. I thought I had some kind of colic, and I woke up 4 in the morning in extreme pain. It took an hour and a few cups of warm water to relieve the stomach pain.

I miss a lot of people, things and activities now. I can’t wait for tomorrow. Monday’s a good day, since there is no Filipino (I am so black listed on that teacher). Ciao~

The State of Emergency

The revoke of my writ of habeas corpus began early of February 23 night. It began when I came home from school, a bit distressed but a little prepared for the greatest feat imaginable - the production of cellophane flowers due the next day. Not just one, but four flowers that could take a long time to do.

I did start organizing things when Kim Sam Soon was playing on the TV (channel 7) and separated colored tubes of newspaper so that I could weave petals and leaves more efficiently. I continued weaving until it reached Jewel in the Palace, where I finished all petals and leaves that could be made from all those colored sticks. I did 6 red petals, 3 green leaves, 5 alternating yellow-orange petals and 4 blue petals. I left some orange and yellow sticks for pistils and pollen.

I wouldn’t surmise being dopey over the issue (halata bang tinatamad ako mag-sulat?) so I’ll just tell you that I finished all flowers at 3 in the morning.

I had only three hours of sleep (I was a dead drag when I woke up 6 in the morning). I rushed everything and got away the house 6:20. I reached school (we went up the Skyway) at about 6:50 or less or more, and I saw a lot of Mascians all crowding up the front.

     No classes.

What I particularly hated about this one was the flowers, it was due that time, and I was stuck with drooping eyes and lack of sleep.

Most BDT people (Mendel-Ptolemy mix) and I walked to Baywalk for aerobics, but we were late, so we did walk to CCP and rented bicycles. I rode a P50 rusty mountain bike. Some got sidecars andsome got ordinary bicycles. The ordinary bikes were a little bit hard to control, but they are quite speedy. When it got hot in the area we left.

We walked to Harrison Avenue and ate breakfast meals at McDonalds. Almost everyone got pancakes to eat, except for Lou who ate some sausages, Kalen who ate twister fries and Cean who had a sundae float. Afterwards we got to ride an almost empty jeep which travelled a long way out until we reached Lawton and walked to SM Manila.

We even got to victimize Nica by making her believe that we were not going anywhere. Vanir told her she was with Cean and her mother, but the truth was everyone was a lot quite. Then Nica was calling Maton and she told her that we were going to SM.

We first got to play DDR and Para upon entering SM. I was having trouble with retaining energy. I always feel heavy and my legs were cramping because of lactic acid formation. I missed Para dancing, because it was almost a month when I last played here.

Everyone then just realized it was a state of emergency. Nica, Angelie and Nño went home, Philippe was already being called by her parents. Vanir just disappeared with Cean (she told me that they went to Lazer and when they came back to Quantum, we were gone) and the rest did some planning.

Who even cares if everyone rallies, as long as just one hour we could try to play.

     Defense of the Ancients.

I mean it; I am not a good teacher. I find things hard to explain when I fully understand them. I taught the game basics like attack and movement. Our first game I was a bit ruthless and I created an in-game fear for Maritoni and an urge for revenge for Julius. No, I’m joking. I was a bit ruthless with playing though. Philippe came in and taught the rest tactics. My team mates were Pauline and Loussane. As usual, I got to use Rhasta, Pauline made an expertise of Lina Inverse, and Lou had a good but crestfallen game. She used Rylai and we were both confused on how to use her skills and Julius always went for her and got to use arrows.

After the game they were hooked. Philippe and I are some good and some bad influence (Vanir told me that she didn’t want to try it because she may get addicted) and they created a schedule to play. Nice one.

I went home and tried to think about the state of emergency. What an emergency. Well, emergencies tend to create room for more events that could be good or bad, fun and sometimes dreadful. What happens next, we don’t really know. It’s just a start.

The Plans of the Silenced

This day (another not-so-bloggable day! They are becoming common..) became a day where four illegal people went out unnoticed of the other people to be in a place that they wanted to be a long time (we had an early break, at 4 we could already get out). But the guard has become strict with the dismissal rules. Good thing they are going to be dismissed at 5.

They rushed out in silence (ano yan? Antithesis o paradox?) and went some 80 steps to the right from the school, entered a building, followed a mere 25 steps, then out of the building, across a road where I almost got hit by a police car, a glass door and a bending flight of stairs. Inside a wooden shed wrapped in current they stopped.

They reached our destination. Let’s now use code names. The four people were Trasha, Lairy, Ricole, and another code name which I forgot, so let’s name him Ldycr. Ldycr and Ricole were partners, you see, and Trasha and Lairy became good partners.

     This is war.

Trasha dominated the war. Beside her was an aggressive Lairy, freezing everyone’s toes within. Lairy always got stabbed by the back a lot, though. Ldycr and Ricole made an effort to fight back the shortest war in the world. Ricole’s mouse got stuck. That ended the war. Aww.

Training started with insane systems and artificial inhibitions to the game, leading to more settlements. They reached a treaty never to extend.

After a dutiful 3600000 milliseconds of war they have reached a conclusion.

     “We’ll do this again.” Ciao~

Green Bone Pillow

In a not-so-bloggable day, the day when I laughed a lot (bangag mode), I received something special. I got a green bone pillow from Thea. It was supposed to be a birthday gift, and my birthday is January and its February, so you get my point. She said that the gift will for my birthday, Valentine’s, and Friendship Day (when the heck is that?) so it was a good gift.

It was so nice, who even receives green pillows anyway. I have something to use in Physics now. Nice one!

This is a micropost. Nothing else to write, except this one.

     Green pillows. Ciao~

The Prom

This is all about the prom in my point of view. February 17, 2006.

I woke up 8 in the morning to call on Philippe so that I could verify if we’ll stay at Manila in YMCA and swim the next day, and it wasn’t called upon, so we moved a lot of telephone sessions so that we could diversify communication.

I thought of the date today, and remembered that it was Joshua’s (my nephew) second month here on Earth! He is currently celebrating his 2nd month in a size which he looked like an 8-month old, so his growth was rapid. ^ ^

I got away from the house and looked for a coat rental It was useless for me to buy my own coat already because I was still growing and my body will just grown out of that coat in a year. We went to Ching’s Rentals and found a perfect fitting coat. It needed to be pressed and adjusted, so we need to return 3 in the afternoon. (The selection began on 2, so we have an hour to shop for shoes, and got my hair fixed.)

We went to Metropolis and looked for the pair of shoes that I would use for the prom. We first got to see Gibi’s style for soft yet non-creasing leather. We looked at Otto’s and we then switched to St. James, where we bought my school shoes (if you ever saw my shoes the days beforehand, you’ll know why I buy new leather shoes when the school year nearly ends) which had a shoelace. I figured it would be better because it won’t jump off my feet when I kick. But that was not the best shoe for the prom. We went to Rusty Lopez and found some tight shoes (my mom favored theirs because it has a 20% discount) but I really liked the Gibi one. I turned out that it had a 10% discount, so it was somehow fair (oh really..).

We rushed to Festival to get my chaotic hair a trim. I’m going to need it for the prom and the later school days because my hair has got long. Good thing they didn’t collect my ID. When we went up a floor and walked inside (go figure where I went) the stylist which my cousin and I liked because of his style vanished from there, I agreed on some other person. It took us about an hour there, before we hurried home my mom even got to buy some groceries. Oh no, the time! I was running late.

When we reached home, my mom got my long sleeves and slacks pressed and I got to use the new shoes and black socks (this was a rare occurrence; I was used ever since I started school that I wear white). It was 5:30. And they all ate! It was no choice to grumble about, I ate too. Particularly, I didn’t eat too much, because I’d be eating there at the prom, so I just ate some bread and other stuff (I forgot.).

We got out of the house about 6. The prom starts at 7, I thought. I live in Muntinlupa, way from the south of Manila. I am getting my coat. That would take about 15 minutes. It’s Friday! Traffic! That was my thoughts when I was it the car. We reached Ching’s and tried out the coat. Good thing it fits perfectly.

The view of the traffic in the South Expressway was dense, and we had no choice but to go through it. Good thing it was still moving at a declarable speed. We reached the Sucat exit and towards Bicutan and we were going slower than usual, so we took the fast Skyway instead. It was 20 minutes before 7. We reached Buendia and waited for 2 long traffic lights. We turned left at Gil Puyat and encountered more traffic up to Taft. We still met more cars across Leveriza until we reached Harrison Avenue. When we reached a street whose name I forgot, we saw the entrance of the Century Park Hotel. It was nice, because I was not late even though it was already 7:20.

I signed up when I saw Errol, Julius and Nick Paul. They were wearing ties, so I became a non-conformist. I found out that few didn’t wear ties, so I wasn’t the only one. A sigh of relief for me, I guess. I got my boutonnière fixed or corsage or some bunch of ferns and a white rose in pink ribbon, meaning I’m a junior. I entered the function room of the hotel. (Errol looked good that night. ^ ^)

I went inside with Loraine Perez, by the way. We were talking (we became close because of the English class) and noted some people for some thing. I forgot again. Let’s skip. We found Hertz occupying three tables, 2 already full and the other one occupied by Therese (who looked very mature that night), Princess (in a tiara) and some other ghosts waiting to be replaced. Trixia came afterwards (one ghost was shooed away). The people gave the impression of being beautiful. Bea had her hair straightened, Jennifer was okay, Kamille looked much lighter and had curls, Mikhaila looked as mature as Therese and had a simpler approach on the gown. Lorraine and Leah all burst out in pink. Mark looked like a Chinese executive while Marc looked like a formal le personnel, with his hair combed backward. Russel and Roemel looked all the same. Niñowell looked awesome (a hyperbole?) and Nikolai became a star in a white coat. [All Hertz]

The prom was first led by a prayer by Sally Gaspi, then the National Anthem and the Manila Science High School Hymn led by Kyle Ganancial and the opening remarks by Karen Perez. Then the dinner system was commenced.

We sat at Table 18, and we were hungry, and they started with 1, 2 and so on. Imagine the time we sat. Our table is now fully occupied (one ghost was left behind) because it was occupied by the boys from Ptolemy and Emerson. Timmons looked like a rock star in a coat-jacket of light brown and black.

After a long wait, we were called in to get up and get dinner. Loraine and I got some bread (we were on diet) and I got salad greens without the dressing, and we got some whipped cream and mango syrup which we mistaken for mango sundae, it was a setback. We got sliced meat and ham, and I got broccoli. We went to our table and laid our plates there and returned to get some egg drop soup.

We went on to dinner. I talked to Philippe about our plan, and it was another setback, because the YMCA was fully booked and we could not continue the swimming plan. So my parents were going to wait for me there at the hotel’s lounge.

Thea got some Padolina people for a picture in the prom. We were not that complete, but it was okay. At least we got some pictures. ^ ^ Royce sang while we were taking pictures and we passed Allan’s song. We reached Vanir and Iric’s song though. It had a problem; Karl’s accompaniment was not as loud as they planned. They just did the song.

We also had an AVP. I was insisting its meaning as anti-viral protein, but it was an audiovisual presentation made by Kim Montejo. It flashed some videos about some questions. Most answers were scripted. Pictures were flashed later. For the Juniors, this was the alphabetical arrangement: Berzelius, Burbank, Calvin, Darwin Linnaeus, Hertz, Mendel. Ptolemy did not have pictures shown. The Seniors had few pics to flash.

The rigodon de honor was dance composed by some juniors and seniors. It was a classic formal and almost Victorian dance. We were cheering for Roemel and Jennifer. It was a synchronized dance planned by Mrs. Carlos and Mrs. Okafor.

After the rigodon de honor was the turn-over. I got the fortune plants from a table near Burbank. The turn-over ceremony smelled of burnt matches, you can’t blame that one, because the seniors were giving out candles. It was a short ceremony. Afterwards it was closed by Raymond Ampil. Then Matthew made us stand up.

     It’s party time!

Now there was a stampede. The fourth years were dancing crazy, and they did not give some room for the juniors. We had to wait for the tables to be moved. Then, when the music stopped, the dancing froze, and when it was played again, they resumed dancing. It was an economic system to save energy.

For the first hours of the party time they did happy music. Hertz was jumping all around, and Benjie and Niñowell had their dancing showdown. It was cruelty to our eyes, yet we enjoyed just the same. We did some trains and we got around all those tables (tables 19, 18, and 2). We got Mrs. Okafor to dance out with the boys of Hertz. We got a dancing adviser. ^ ^ Rutherford also had picture. I returned for the music. They did the slow music for later. I had few dances than what was compromised by other people. I got to dance with Michaelle, Angelica, Beatriz, Pia, Nica and Lorraine. I didn’t dance with Thea on the slow music, instead we did a varsovienne.

The prince and princess were Kevin Quioge and Julie Ann Perez. It was a vote cast out by Linnaeus. ^ ^ The king’s name, I can’t remember. The queen was Jona of the Seniors. She was a known non-conformist, she wore a vampire slayer look, and she wore black. She even had dangling earrings of bats.

For the record, the prom was becoming a Valentine’s romance central. As many realize love that night many things flew out as well. There was a presence of sadness, some weakness, anger, and tears. A lot may deal out friendship, a few may deal out love and warmth, but some had the emotions to fall back. Maybe we all need a night - just one night to realize everything we need to.

We bought Angelica’s picture and gave it to Carlos. Philippe was trying to sell at 100 (even though it was only P60). The star of the night was Therese Aguinalde. ^ ^ It was 1 in the morning, and it was the time we need to stop and fall back through the twilight.

It’s over. I’m hungry, and I slept through the travel. Ciao~

The Rhodora

There was a debate in the class about what is beauty all about. Get a grip, we lost. The winner was the beheld side, we, the beholder side lost.

Before you could even tell what I am talking about, let’s view the poem that started it all.

The Rhodora: On Being Asked, Whence Is the Flower?
In May, when sea-winds pierced our solitudes,
I found the fresh Rhodora in the woods,
Spreading its leafless blooms in a damp nook,
To please the desert and the sluggish brook.
The purple petals, fallen in the pool,
Made the black water with their beauty gay;
Here might the red-bird come his plumes to cool,
And court the flower that cheapens his array.
Rhodora! if the sages ask thee why This charm is wasted on the earth and sky,
Tell them, dear, that if eyes were made for seeing,
Then Beauty is its own excuse for being:
Why thou wert there, O rival of the rose!
I never thought to ask, I never knew:
But, in my simple ignorance, suppose
The self-same Power that brought me there brought you.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Now you read the poem, our dutiful English teacher asked us a question that caused the first draws of confusion within the topic secluded above.

“Is an object beautiful due to its beholder, or depends on the beheld?”

What argument was she trying to propose? She made us understand the poem, especially the underlined one in The Rhodora. She is trying to say that even though the beauty of the rhodora is wasted the flower remains beautiful.

The debate was worse - we were actually bringing down the torrent of Mrs. Soriano herself. But, I was not debating the topic, I was merely explaining the essence of why the debate was particularly unnecessary.

She said that we are all asleep. We are asleep, and the sun rises. We did not see the sun, but the sun is still beautiful. This is the natural beauty. However how can beauty be told as beautiful unless someone holds the idea for you? Our side did a worse job in defending the issue, so we lost, and the beheld side celebrated their victory. I simply smiled at the event (Niñowell was already bummed about what’s happened, he defended the beholder side for a long time) and told Hagar the one who was tormented by the issue she was trying to defend with me) that the debate was useless. 7 of the intelligent people realized that. How minds can be narrow enough.

Here are some views:

According to me: “Beauty needs a grip to be realized. It is there, but it is not seen well, someone needs a beholder to replenish the idea for beauty itself.”

According to Loribelle: “Beauty depends on the beholder. Beauty is possessed by the beheld. See the difference? They were actually fighting over non-coplanar issues. The debate should have never existed.

Beauty needs an explanation, not an argument.

The debate’s over, I don’t care. This is a post to tell how errors reveal meaning to other errors and constituent answers. Ciao~

A FS Valentine's

Valentine’s Day started too early for me. Five minutes after twelve midnight, my Valentine’s Day was already starting. If you read my blog, you know I got butter. The next things that I could give you are some strawberries, a messy kitchen and an overheated bread toaster.

I had some box with dark blue metallic paper and an Alice Blue ribbon. It was a nice box. I froze what I did because I failed to make some things stick to some things that lead to, something else. Who even thought of melting cream?

When I went to school, I was a bit nervous. I was carrying a box wrapped in blue containing frozen strawberry shortcake I messed up myself a few morning hours ago. I even saw people who had a lot of gardens pulled out. They got rose gardens, some asters and a few wildflowers (wild?!?). Most of all they were in pink.

Some people performed in the stage. I thought it was a stampede (stampede!!!) and there were some singers. The pianist and a back-up were Mascians, nice one. So, we are talking about loooooooooooove.

Truth be told, Physics expanded the laws of cerebral gravitation. Hertz never felt so bored in thermodynamics. We almost slept at the classroom. Wow. We were lulled to sleep!

I made an alert button on Computer Science. It was fun, since we were marqueeing leaves on a functional web page. Leaves were running alternate and sliding right to left. ^ ^

It is now proven - I am made to support. When I played DoTA with Ryle, Mark, Jeff, James, Elijah, Joemar and Niñowell. When we played our best game (the team I were in was composed of Jeff, Niñowell, Joemar and James), I got to use Rhasta. I became an all-out support. (If you play this game you know what I’m going to say) I shackled enemies, released serpents and added up some lightning. I became a primary target and I hate being the primary target. I was happy about our victory, I got to have a Mekansm, a Hyperstone and an Ultimate Orb. I became a ward-shackle defensive player, and I ran all around the place. Even though I was not the best player according to the play’s results, I felt great with the respect that they endowed on my skill (wow, be proud!) on supporting people.

Need to study for Social Studies. ^ ^

Ciao~ [Happy Valentine’s Day! See you in the prom!]

Monday

For some reasons, I liked Mondays. I particularly hate days with Filipino as first subject (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday), so Mondays were particularly special. I think I have shown my point, so let’s move on.

Today is Christian’s birthday. He is the one who helped me become transcendent (go figure what help) and he makes the class crack up. This is not an elegy; he just did egg rolls on class, rushed games in Magic, he sang outrageously (but in tune) and he cracked fun on the class.

Today is the day before Valentine’s Day. Hmmm, what will I give out? Let’s just tell that I got butter from a store. Go figure the next details.

Today is Student Time Quiz day. I got a low score (15/25) - and don’t even ask why I got that, I just skimmed the ST and highlighted details with a gold gel pen. Particularly, that was useless. Kamille (our president) commented on that one.

     “Kita ba yan?”

That’s when I noticed that I can’t see gold ink on mimeographed paper.

Today, I hated checking test papers, especially when I got to check every paper with essays, identifications and problem solving, especially if the subject of matter is Physics, and if my classmates would hurdle stampedes of high voices on a stupid little question about cooling tea.

Today I wrapped seven tubes of newspaper with cellophane (clap clap, what an achievement). We did not have TLE with Ms. Naguit because she had something to do somewhere else, and I used that time to check Physics.

Today I and Mary cleaned our classroom and eradicated all the trash of our class and reduced our cabinet to a surprising minimum. We threw away some stained glasses (with owner’s permission or approval or whatever), threw hidden boxes and other trash and covered everything with red cloth.

Today I noticed that we are getting poor (I mean Hertz) because I became a mendicant for chalk. I got two pieces from the Darwin people (thank you!). We need chalk.

Today we sang the prom turnover songs. We were singing Power of Two and Next in Line. Our adviser just gave us the order to sing. Add to that some walks to the retail store. ^ ^

     That’s a post (short one) and that’s all. Ciao~
[I’m amazed. I don’t write this much stuff on a Monday.]

A Twelve Hour Sunday

What can happen to a person alone in the house for 12 hours, with a television, a computer, newspaper, and bond paper?

The things that happened to me for this Sunday:
  1. I did not wake up early for the mass. So I’m missing the morning one, and I’m attending the afternoon one, meaning I’m missing Barefoot Contessa again.

  2. Our PC went on and off about twelve times today. That’s many!

  3. I went doing newspaper rolling work.

  4. I watched CSI Supreme Sunday. That means I missed three hours of rolling life for TV.

  5. I watched the Disc 2 of Shawn of the Dead. It was horrific, deadly, bloody and flesh-tearing! Conclusion: It was nice. ^ ^

  6. I went to church alone.

  7. I printed 999 Kanji characters from kanjisite.com and printed them all.

  8. I listened to Max 300 about 301 times.

  9. I did the usual dog-food since I’m alone and there was nothing to cook. I got chunky corned beef, garlic, lots of ground pepper and rice. Go figure what I did for supper.

  10. I meditated for about 15 minutes.

  11. I took a 1 hour bath. Imagine the amount of water running through the showers that faithful hour. I think I slept at the bathroom. *Yawn*

  12. I did my Filipino output in 30 minutes.

That’s twelve things in twelve hours. Whatever. Ciao~

Mockery Afterhand, and Some Stuff

The mock test was over now. It was an experience to just get your “divination” skills on the move. Let’s just say that I used a calculator in English, checked the grammar of the Math Test (my test ran with Es, meaning the answer is not in the choices), made a fake letter in Filipino, left Chemistry stupefied afterwards and used the remaining time for the Social Studies (which consisted of 50 items only, yey, Benjie said it was a bum because he studied for this one) was a blast of divination answers. Let me guess that letter… hmmm

We got away from the classroom on 12 noon. Philippe, Carlos and I rushed to the Paksnet (this name is dismaying, I thought it was Fox Net when I heard it, it was such a cool name, but here the sign went all the way to.. Paksnet) where we got Philippe’s PE uniform which he left there another day. We returned to school to meet with all others. We are going skating. ^ ^

While we were waiting, I was hiding behind the backs of the Mendel people so that a certain teacher will not see me (because she might not let me go away and stay for a review) and I was spotted by a Physics teacher. I said to him:

“Sir, I ask for your silence.”

Pause.

“Okay.”

Whew. That saved me from total danger of being summoned. So we rushed out, however we were split unevenly because Anna, Aby and CM waited for Bea. So we rode a bus, and we sat for like hours before we reached SM.

Nica and I were screaming hunger in the bus. So we said that we’ll have lunch at KFC while we wait for the other group. Kalen, Gelie and Aia went upstairs to the Dance Maniax Machine. Alyssa, Nica, Niño, Cristina and I rushed the orders. We made a deal to eat as speedy as possible, wreaking havoc to our tongues because they served the food hot. Philippe and Luis came afterwards.

After munching out, CM and Anna came down a flight of stairs. Bea and Aby were changing clothes, so were Kalen, Alyssa and Angelie. We rushed the flight of stairs, got our tickets from our wallets, and placed our tickets on a sarcastic counter lady.

After getting the passes we rushed and formed a line in the shoes counter and told a serviceman crew there our shoe sizes. As I mentioned 11, he gave me nice pair of skates. It looked like a hockey shoe, but it had a toe pick, so I had a good-looking boots for today’s session.

There was three catches.

First, it was much heavier than the blue leather skates (which smelled horribly disgusting), it had a rock-hard top which made it difficult to glide, and it was squeezing my feet inwards that my appendages got smaller by the moment. My feet were constricted, and I had no choice but to try it.

Glide.

We were so many there - and we were all gliding and turning. I was already practicing spins and fast transitions and most of them wanted a lesson. I was not good of a teacher, because I could do what I can do in the rink, but it was kind of hard to explain. I tried my best to tell foot directions and weight shifting.

Improvements were starting to take shape. I can cross my feet as I glide backward, most could now glide freely. We even had a few tag games (it was feet-crushing) and a few more watch-others-and-learn from other figure skaters and their respective teachers.

We all practiced skating movements. Most practiced back gliding, which needed some mastery (I almost needed 3 sessions before I got to glide backwards) while Philippe practiced different movements while Bea and Anna did some spins.

Most already went out of the rink after an hour, and Maritoni, Philippe, Bea, Aby, Mike (which came in afterwards), Anna and I stayed for another hour. The rink was free of people, and skater-rink density was low.

After the skating session, we went out the rink and walked to the Quantum Amusement Center. We bought the 20-peso 5 tokens and rushed to the Dance Revolution Machine. We got to see Philippe’s cousin play all heavy songs who treated some light songs as “child’s play”. I was amazed by the stamina he got for dancing rapidly, because that’s my total dancing weakness.

We got to play some usuals, like Break Down and Afronova Revenge. Max 300 also became a favourite. Carlos and Maritoni came with pearl shakes from Zagu, and I wanted to try the vanilla one which Carlos was drinking) and went for the Zagu post and bought a regular-sized smoothie. I would actually prefer drinking fruit puree from Fruitas, but I wanted to taste vanilla again. ^ ^

Delicious.

After a tiring dance session (which had our legs cramping because of stomping), Nica went shoe shopping for the prom. We went to Shubiz, a store full of spiky shoes and bags for girls. There was a pink sandal there that Nica particularly liked (which cost 1500) and Nica went on debit for borrowing money to buy the sandals. My attention was caught by a sneaker stiletto, it looked liked a Chuck Taylor on heels. It was nice (for a girl) and Nica said it was her next target.

She got the shoes, but she needed money for fare.

I guess she’ll walk. ^ ^

That’s the end of a trip. Ciao~

Mockery Beforehand

I have not written for ages. Many things have been happening ever since the start of February. I was amazed by the turnout of some issues inside the school.

It has been a great deal of talk for identifying who has been stealing cell phones inside the campus. Many have been investigated, especially Ptolemy and Mendel students, since most of the reported steals were in their respect. Details remain unclear, but the effect can be felt.

We have started tackling HTML on our Computer Science subject. Many were having a great deal of fun it in (it is really fun) and I went remembering all those tags I’ve studied when I was in elementary.

Today is the day before our mock test. It is for the preparation for the National Achievement Test. The review was deadly, especially for Social Studies, because it already included the Modern Times of History and Globalization.

I was reviewing my Kanji knowledge after not practicing for about 2 months. I forgot a lot of characters, and I could only remember a few complex others!

The Prom was still a topic. People talking about what they’re going to wear, collecting the payments and preparations for the officers, it was an official hassle. Add some parent-related hassle and it was a sandwich experience for us. We cannot take sides, and we must concern ourselves with the prom itself and rationalize actions. Some parents are setting a bad example, tsk tsk.

I have nothing else to write.

The Technologies of a Jesuit

I was hoping to be swizzling today, but time came by so fast that we never reached our destination.

I want to celebrate the times of being here in this blog. I wanted to give an applauding remark for the homily of the priest in the morning.

     Live the here and now.
     Never live the past.
     Never anticipate the future.

Everyone will get a hold of these three statements.

     Guess who?

DREAMS

I will become a nurse, then become a doctor, then become a Master of Professional Health Education, and teach at UP someday.

I will have my own house with a very large garden, filled with flowers and trees.

I will get a 1.0 in at least one subject in my course of education in UP. (Now this is ridiculous. But please let me be happy.)

I will have musically-trained ears. Someday. =)

I will learn a foreign language by heart. =)
