Five Funny Moments

My inay Pauline Ballacillo tagged me for five funny moments of my childhood.

[Inay, I miss you! jay-v to pauba]

Okay. Drum roll please.

#1: I went once to Don Bosco Makati when I was in Grade 1 wearing a barong, whereas everyone wore kamisa de tsino and pajamas in celebration of the Linggo of Wika. I really thought back then I heard my adviser tell the class that one must wear the complete barong suit that day. I was scolded by my adviser, and told me to remove the abaca outfit because it's too hot. To think I argued to my mom about this. I kept defending the barong when we were at home.

The funny thing (for me, that is if ...) is when we were on the road (and were stuck in traffic, so I came late, and I wore that barong, whoa! Double the fun and embarrassment!) a traffic aide noticed my formalwear and asked if we were going to a wedding.

#2: There was this time when Pokemon was the greatest game craze. I really loved playing it in the very antique Gameboy Color (which I still have and I still play with... Naks! Vintage!). I was so addicted to the game that I sleep talk about it. My brother told me that I was mimicked the battles in the game, that while I was dozing I would suddenly shout "Ice Beam!" and then the sudden rattle of Pokemon moves. I was only told about this, so I am not really sure of its validity. Anyway, I only play Pokemon Crystal version in my Gameboy if I want to detoxify.

#3: When I was young I ate very little and the whole clan of Gatdula ate lunch at Kamayan for some Sundays. Every person was given the eat-all-you-can platter that cost about 450 pesos (not sure at the actual price). Since I ate like an ant back then, everyone who saw me felt that I wasted P450. My aunt (who paid for the bill) was a bit frustrated of this.

One time when everyone ate at Kamayan, I was exiled to Italliani's... alone.

I had a plate of pasta, some grilled steak, a tall sherbet and strawberry cheese cake. That latter of food was way more expensive than the P450 worth of varied Filipino delicacies.

My cousins who came in late joined me in the greatest food exile on earth. After that, I really enjoyed feasting in restaurants.

#4: When I was a toddler, my parents needed to shield my eyes when we will pass any McDonald’s for fear of a sudden expense and severe thrashing. When I saw the big yellow M back then (I was only told about this, so I am not really sure if it’s true, but I believe it anyway) and IF we were about to skip it and continue traveling, I would cry, scream, shout and point at the sign. My dad suffered a terrible beating from me if we didn’t go there and buy some fast food.

Preferences change (I now love Burger King), and surely I don’t have the tantrums now for delectable choices of fast food.

#5: This piece of information that I am about to reveal is very embarrassing for me when I was young. I was too shy to express this grievance to other people back then.

Now everyone who will read this... shall have the honor of making me a laughingstock for some time.

...

My digestive system played a very major role on these events. Blame him, not me. He is a weak type of organ system.

When I was in kindergarten I pooed in class. Reason: Diarrhea. It was a sudden gush. And then the sluggish spread of the odor.
When I was in Grade 6 I was farting like crazy. Every 5 minutes or so a despicable smell would circulate in the air-conditioned room. Reason: Constipation (leads to gas formations in the intestines that leads to flatulence). I was then termed Pururut Salad until I graduated.

*applause*

Ten people to tag! Oh my. I'm tagging everyone else who hasn’t done this post. (I really hope you are only ten.)

Ciao~

my mind fleeted at :9:39 PM ;

DREAMS

I will become a nurse, then become a doctor, then become a Master of Professional Health Education, and teach at UP someday.

I will have my own house with a very large garden, filled with flowers and trees.

I will get a 1.0 in at least one subject in my course of education in UP. (Now this is ridiculous. But please let me be happy.)

I will have musically-trained ears. Someday. =)

I will learn a foreign language by heart. =)
